Solar Connections

At  AusNet Services, we’re committed to meeting the changing needs of our customers and communities, and this includes supporting your move to an embedded generation system, such as solar power.

We support residential, commercial and industrial customers wishing to install solar. However, we do not buy or use the solar energy that moves into or out of our grid. That is the role of your electricity retailer.

Our role is to connect your system to the AusNet Services electricity distribution network, and to maintain a register of all installations, including photovoltaic (PV), battery system or wind turbines. So if you’re looking to connect, we’re here to help.

We are required to meet detailed government regulations in all areas of customer connections. Read our Electricity Distribution Network Connection Policy. More information about embedded generation connections can be found in our minimum service requirements. AusNet Services accepts no responsibility for costs incurred for installations that exceed these requirements.

Before you decide to install a solar energy system, we strongly recommend that you conduct your own research into the potential costs and benefits.
