SP AusNet customers can assist us by reporting any faults that they observe in our gas or electricity networks. For your safety, please stay clear of fallen or damaged powerlines and infrastructure, and suspected faulty gas pipes, and keep out of electricity easements.

BEFORE reporting a fault, please check that:

  • for electricity customers -  your circuit breaker or safety switch has not operated
  • for gas customers - your meter has not been turned off

To report a fault, please select from the following:

For electricity faults

  • Phone 13 17 99 (press 1 for life threatening emergencies)
  • Hearing impaired line 1300 305 043
  • SMS  0427 840 930 - include the National Metering Identifier (NMI) or Metering Installation Registration Number (MIRN) shown on your electricity or gas bill, your name, address and the nature of the fault
  • Email faultsinfoline@sp-ausnet.com.au (for non life threatening emergencies only)
  • Email streetlight@sp-ausnet.com.au (for street light faults)

For electricity transmission towers

  • Phone 1800 111 164
  • Hearing impaired line 1300 305 043

For gas faults
