SP AusNet customers can assist us by reporting any faults that they observe in our gas or electricity networks. For your safety, please stay clear of fallen or damaged powerlines and infrastructure, and suspected faulty gas pipes, and keep out of electricity easements.
When your area is selected for installation, you will first receive an introductory letter, followed by a letter informing you of a ten day period of when installation will take place.
Please ensure you provide the meter installation technician with clear and safe access to your meter.
Please also ensure that the meter enclosure and wiring is safe.
If you have concerns about your wiring, you should engage a registered electrical contractor to inspect the wiring prior to your meter exchange.
You do not need to be home while the installation is taking place.
Your power will be off forapproximately 30-60 minutes during the installation. Our installer will leave an information pack for you once the smart meter is installed.
Please watch the following video to see how quick and easy a smart meter installation can be.
